We strive to be a welcoming community to current and prospective families, and we've worked to create a straightforward process for all who apply. Equality of Education

Our Savior Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age or disability to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, handicap, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational or admission policies, scholarship, and other school administered programs. It should be noted, however, that the school reserves the right to deny admission to any child whose special needs cannot be met by its staff.

Admissions Process

Prospective families who wish to enroll will be asked to complete the following steps in the admissions process.

  • Request an initial tour of the school. Admission packets will be available after touring the school. Please call the school office at 703-892-4846 or email office@osva.org to schedule a tour. Tours are offered on Tuesday morning from 9 AM - 11 Am or Thursday afternoons from 12 PM - 2 PM.

  • Return an application with the designated registration fee. Any child who is not accepted will have their registration fee refunded.

  • Other items required with the application include a copy of the child’s most recent report card, current testing results, and a copy of an IEP or 504 Plan that a child may have.

  • A recommendation from a current teacher. An email for that teacher will be requested.

  • Complete a Records Release Form which requests the transfer of a child's educational records from the previous school.

  • All children entering grades three-eight are asked to schedule a time to shadow for a portion of a school day. Please schedule with the office.

  • Children entering middle school will take a placement test on the day that they shadow.

  • After completion of these steps, the admissions team will review applications prior to acceptance.

  • An interview with the principal may be requested prior to final acceptance.

  • In certain circumstances the Board of Education may wish to meet with the parents and the student as well.

Pre-k and Kindergarten

The Commonwealth of Virginia determines age eligibility for children entering Pre-K/Kindergarten and First Grade. The Virginia mandate currently requires that children entering Pre-K be 4 years old, Kindergarteners be 5 years old, and children entering 1st grade be 6 years old by September 30. In accordance with the current practice of Arlington County, no exceptions to this policy will be considered.
